Brother DCP L5500DN Document Jam Repair Guide
Below you will find the Brother DCP L5500DN Document Jam Repair Guide followed by links to purchase the replacement parts to fix problems with the ADF separation pad. These pads seem to last around 50,000 before they start multiple feeding and causing other issues.
A different identified trouble with these pads is that they might become separated from the holder assembly. When this occurs, the paper hits the upper lip of the holder as it passes through and results in the paper to jam up right under the roller assembly. Obviously, replacing of the separation pad is needed as soon as this happens. Lots of people assume the feed rollers are the issue because the pad gets lost in action and when they search in there they don’t see it so they don’t it should be there. Hence they consider the feed roller. However, it’s usually just as simple as putting in a fresh separation pad.
Currently numerous technicians like to remove and replace both parts simultaneously. So listed below I’ve provided both parts for order. Now if you only have 50,000 pages through the ADF or if you aren’t tech savvy then you probably only need or should attempt to replace the ADF separation pad.
