While not a very popular error the print unable 20 message does happen from time to time on these models. In this article we’ll talk a little bit about the error and give a few troubleshooting steps before deciding on replacing the Laser Scanner Assembly.
The Print Unable 20 Message means the Black laser Diode in the Laser Scanner Assembly has had a malfunction.

Troubleshooting Tips for the Print Unable 20 Error.
1. Turn the machine off then back on. You might want to unplug the machine from the wall and communication cables. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes and try again.
2. Reseat the Laser Scanner Assembly Wire Harness.
3. Replace the Laser Scanner Assembly
4. Replace the Engine Control Board PCA
Maybe at a later date I will have an article describing how to replace the laser scanner unit. It is one of the more complicated repairs on this model so at this point I would simply recommend trying to find the service manual online if you don’t feel up to attempting this repair on your own.
