Repair Advice for the  HP Color LaserJet CM3530 Fan Noise Issues

Most fans you find in these machines are your standard fans that you find in most electrical appliances. Straight forward cooling fans that are easy to tell when they go out because they get noisy, sluggish, move intermittent, then seize up. The cartridge fan and delivery fan in these machines are different than those fans. These fans are more like the ones that you find in your cars blower system. Below, I have provided information about the  HP Color LaserJet CM3530 Fan Noise and a situation I ran into with this machine and one that I think more people will be having due to the design of the fan.

HP Color LaserJet CM3530 Fan Noise Issues

A few months ago I was called out to work on a machine that had a loud noise. When I got onsite the machine had an intermittent noise periodically when printing. However, it wasn’t like your typical fan noise, it was a low rumbling noise coming from the lower left side of the machine. When I got the left side off and turned the machine back on and ran some prints it was obvious the noise was coming from the fan housing assembly. I ordered in a new fan assembly and the machine was back in business. The main difference with these fans is the noise they make when they go out. It’s a very unique sound. Not something that your use to hearing. Almost like the noise old laser scanner motors made when they went out.
