Now the service manuals on these machines rate the fusing assemblies at 100,000 prints. However, everything that I have seen online specify this part as being rated at 60,000 prints. I guess the machine will tell you when it feels it’s time for replacement. These machines are a step up from some of the other models so it makes since that  the fusing units  would have a higher life rating. Anyway, if you want to know the life of the unit then look in your supplies menu. The machine will also tell you when the fuser life is near end and will give you a replace fuser message when it is finally at the end of it’s life. These fusers have a fuse in them that blows the first time they are powered up. This procedure lets the machine know it is a new fusing assembly and will reset the life counter. Therefore, it is important to only replace a fuser when you tend to use it. If you install a used fuser in a machine that is giving you a replacement message then the message will not go away.
 Note :  The fusers in these machines run between 375 and 425 decrees. It is strongly recommended that you power off the machine for at least 15 to 30 minutes before you replace the unit.

2. Locate the fuser.
3. Pull the blue fuser lock lever towards the front of the printer.
4. Hold the fuser by its handle. Lift the fuser out of the printer. If the fuser is still warm, place it on a flat surface which will not be damaged by heat. After letting the fuser cool down, discard it.
5. Remove the new fuser from its packaging. Remove any packing tape.
6. Push the orange transport lock to the left to release it. You’ll hear it snap. Remove it.
7. Hold the new fuser by the handle. The fuser pressure release lever (2) should be on the left. Lower the fuser  into the printer.
