List of  Samsung ML – 3470nd / 3471nd Error Codes  

Below you will find the Samsung ML – 3470nd / 3471nd Error Codes along with a few tips on working through these problems. Unfortunately the service manual doesn’t have an illustrated picture showing the different sensor locations in this machine but I will supply a picture of the feed path which should help in some troubleshooting information.

Door Open – Close the top cover. Verify the actuator and sensor are properly seated and functioning right.
Duplex Jam 0 – Paper made it to the exit sensor but failed to duplex sensor. Remove jam and check for debris in the area.
Duplex Jam 1 – Paper made it to the duplex sensor but failed to make it back to the feed sensor.
Fuser Door Open – check the back door. Make sure the sensor and actuator are working properly
Install Toner – verify correct toner is installed, check contacts, replace with OEM toner
Invalid Toner –  verify correct toner is installed, check contacts, replace with OEM toner
Load Manual Press Stop Key – The machine has been selected to print in manual feed mode. check your settings. Load manual tray with correct size and type of paper
Low Heat Error – The temperature of the fuser is below operating level. Turn off then back on. Replace the fuser.
LSU Hsync Error – The laser motor got up to speed but experienced other problems. Turn off then back on. Replace LSU
LSU Motor Error – laser scanner motor did not get to operating speed and or steady speed. Turn off then back on. Replace LSU
Main Motor Locked – Fuser rollers will melt together and cause this issue or toner cartridges will have the same effect. Replace defective part.
Open Heat Error – No AC through Fuser. Check thermostats and lamp inside fuser. Replace Fuser if needed.
Over Heat Error – Over heat condition in the fusing unit. Turn off and let the machine sit 15 to 30 minutes then try again. Test the fan.

Paper Jam 0 –  Paper failed to make it to the feed sensor. Check paper tray, feed path, and roller. Clean pick up roller or replace
Paper Jam 1 –  Paper made it to the feed roller but failed to make it to the exit senor. Open cover, remove toner, and remove paper, look for debris in path. Verify the fusing assembly is working and the exit sensor is in place.
Paper Jam 2 –  Paper made it to the exit sensor but failed to get out of it in time.
Printing… – If this message will not go away. Unplug communication cable and turn off then on.
Ready – The printer is ready to print. If will not go away try printing an internal test print and check communication cables and settings.
Replace Toner – toner at the end of it’s life. Replace with new OEM toner
Self Diagnostic…  – Something is wrong. Typically this leads to a fuser problem. Check fuser. Sometimes if you wait long enough it will give you the code, or press the cancel button. Other times turning it off then back on could lead to the actual error.
Sleeping… – Power Save mode. Turn off then back on if it will not clear. Check communication cables. USB cables should be 6 foot or less.
Toner Low – Early warning message. Order in New OEM toner
Tray 1 Paper Empty –  Check to make sure the tray is working and paper is loaded properly.
Tray 2 Paper Empty –  Check to make sure the tray is working and paper is loaded properly.
