Troubleshooting the Fuser High Temp Error on the Xerox Phaser 4500
Typically these Fuser High Temp errors go away rather quickly if handled right. Handled wrong and it can result in unwanted damage to the machine and more repair cost. This error means that the thermistors have read a high temperature reading for an extended amount of time and the machine has been unable to properly resolve the problem.
Troubleshooting Tips
1. The first and most important step is to turn the machine off and let it sit at least 20 to 30 minutes then plug back in and try again.
2. Check the Environment – I’ve seen these machines over heat in extreme temperatures like out in factories or shipping docks. I don’t recommend temperatures over 85 decrees.
3. Large volumes and Heavy Card Stock jobs can cause over heating. If your machine gets a Fuser High Temp Error during these jobs then break the jobs up into smaller pieces.
