HP LaserJet M5025 and M5035 Printer 50.1 Fuser Error, Low Temperature

Troubleshooting the 50.1 Fuser Error in the HP LaserJet  M5025  and M5035 Printer

The 50.1 Fuser Error in these machines is the same as any other HP machine. The error is related to a low temperature situation being read in the fusing assembly. In this article, I will discuss a few of the issues that can cause this problem and give a few tips on troubleshooting and diagnosing the 50.1 Fuser Error before you determine to replace the fuser, HP LaserJet  M5025  / M5035  / M5039  Q7829-67931, RM1-3007-040CN, Fusing Assembly.

1. Turn the printer off then back on. Sometimes  if the fuser is already hot this will give it a few extra seconds to get up to the correct operating temperature.

2.  Verify that the machine is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a power strip with other devices plugged in, a  battery backup, or UPS. All these devices can result in low power to the machine which can in turn cause  50.1 low temperature errors in the fusing assembly.

3. Turn the machine off, unplug it, reseat the fusing assembly, let the machine sit  20 to 30 minutes, then plug back in and turn it on. This will allow the machines internal electronics to discharge.  Sometimes this can solve some problems.

4. Majority of the time I see this error  it means the fuser  is on its way out.  Anytime I get called out on this error and the machine is  working when I arrive on site I always check the error log. If I see the error once or twice it’s time to replace the fusing assembly. Letting it go and not replacing it will most likely result in a call back.

Below is what the Service Manual has to say on the 50.1 Fuser Error

2. Verify that the correct model of fuser is installed.
3. Verify that the correct voltage fuser is installed.
