HP Color LaserJet CP3525 50.3 Fuser Error – High Temperature

Diagnosing the High Temperature 50.3 Fuser Error in the HP Color LaserJet CP3525

The 50.3 fuser error in the HP Color LaserJet CP3525 is related to a high temperature reading in the fusing unit. The temperature is read in the fuser to make sure that it is working at the right temperature for correct fusing in the machine. Temperatures can be changed given the type and quality of machines. For example, heavy cardstock paper feeds through the machine at a slower speed and higher temperature. In this article I’d like to talk about the high temperature error and advice a few tips on troubleshooting and diagnosing the problem.

Troubleshooting Tips
1. Turn the machine off and let it sit 30 to 60 minutes. This allows it time to cool off. If it was a simple high temperature problem this should resolve the issue.

2. Running large print jobs using heavy cardstock, thick, bond, or other types of paper that require high temperature settings can cause this error. If you run into this problem, break the print job up into smaller jobs. For example if the print job is 500 pages, print off 50 pages, let to machine cool off for 10 to 15 minutes then print the next 50. Continue this procedure until your job is complete.

3. Environmental surroundings can   cause high temperature issues also. Make sure you have 4 to 6 inch clearance around the whole machine and make sure nothing is blocking the cooling fan vents on the machine. Customers love to stick pictures and notes on the side of the machines. Make sure that isn’t happening. Finally, make sure the temperature around the machine fits the printers specifications. I usually say between 55 and 85 decrees. This last summer I recieved several complaints in factories and shipping and recieving areas were machines were over heating due to the extreme heat in these areas on hot summer days.

4. If all else fails turn the machine off, unplug the machine, let it sit 30 to 60 minutes and try again. If it still fails then you can attempt the troubleshooting tips found in the service manual below.
Below is what the HP Service Manual has to say about troubleshooting the 50.3 Fuser Error
