50.2 Fuser Error – HP Color Laserjet 4700, 4730 MFP, CP4005

50.2 fuser error – HP Color Laserjet  4700, 4730 MFP, CP4005

Lots of factors can result in the HP color laserjet  4700, 4730 MFP, and CP4005  printers displaying a 50.2 fuser  error. The 50.2 fuser error  is a result of the machine not properly warming up before it’s time to print. The thermistors  inside the fuser  measure the temperature as the machine warms up. If after a certain amount of time the  fusing unit, HP Color LJ 4700, 4730, and CP4005 Fuser, RM1-3131-000, Q7502A,  has not reached its operating temperature the machine informs the end-user by displaying the 50.2 fuser error.

First thing to check is the power source. Make sure the machine is plugged straight  into the wall outlet and not on a power strip with other devices.

Second is to just turn the machine off and back on. If the  fusing assembly  is still hot then maybe a little extra time will get it to its operating temp. might not be a permanent  solution but will get you working for a time. The heating elements do get worn out and take longer to warmup. If you see this error happen more than once and turning it off and back on fixes it then I would get a  fusing assembly  on order and replace it as soon as possible because the 50.23 fuser error most likely continue to come back until it doesn’t work any more.

Third is to check the environment. Make sure the machine is not in an extreme cold environment as this can result in warmup issues. Or if you just brought it in from outside in the winter you should let the machine sit 2 to 4 hours before using.

Conclusion About the 50.2 fuser error  in your HP Color Laserjet  4700, 4730 MFP, CP4005

The 50.2 fuser error in the HP color laserjet  4700, 4730 MF, and CP4005  is one of those errors that will probably be seen more than other fuser errors because  it’s a low temperature error rather than a high temperature error. Make sure you follow the above advice before you replace the fuser because it could be a simple problem like not having it plugged into a wall outlet. If the steps above don’t resolve the 50.2 fuser error then replacing the fusing assembly will most likely be needed. Below is a link to order the part and above in the article is the steps on how to replace it.
