The estimated fuser life of these machines is around 90,000. Personally I think that might be a little under rated, in good environments they probably could last longer than that but it’s always a good idea to at least check it out at this point and to at least consider replacement if it is starting to wear down. One problem that I see with newer machines and well built machines is people leaving the fusers in them for to long. Overtime, the fusers tend to turn harder and it can create more wear and tear on the internal drive gears. Most Manufactures recommend 10 to 15 minutes of cooling before you start the fuser replacement. So it might be a good idea to turn the machine off, clean up the machines covers, inside the cavity, and area around the machine to kill a few minutes then remove the replacement fuser from the box. Now we can replace the old cooled off fuser with the new replacement one.
1. Remove the Rear cover
2. Remove the Fusing unit.
Lift both hooks before attempting to remove the fusing unit from the machine.
