Instructions for the  HP Color CM3530 Cartridge Fan and Delivery Fan Replacement
Whenever I see one of these machines it seems like the machine is experiencing odd problems. The delivery and cartridge fan aren’t your regular fans that you find in most HP machines. I’ve already run into problems with them being noisy.  The fans are listed as separate parts in the manual but it seems most suppliers are selling the two fans together in the housing. Below you will find instructions for the  HP Color CM3530 Cartridge Fan and Delivery Fan Replacement along with a link to order in a replacement fan if needed.

HP CM3530 Left Cover Removal
1. Remove four screws.
2. Release the rear edge of the cover, and slightly separate the cover from the product.
3. The figure below shows the cover removed so that you can see the tab locations. Before proceeding, note the location of the mounting tabs.
CAUTION: One tab is easily damaged when removing the cover. Be careful when removing the cover.
4. Use your thumb to press in on the lower-front portion of the cover (near the dashed circle in the figure below), and then slightly slide the cover away from the front door to release one tab.
CAUTION: You must flex the cover enough to release the front edge of the cover, but do not damage the tab at the bottom-front edge of the cover.
5. Slide the cover toward the rear of the product and rotate it away from the product and then remove the cover.

HP Color CM3530 Cartridge Fan and Delivery Fan Replacement
1. Remove five screws, and then remove the sheet-metal plate.
2. Disconnect five connectors.
NOTE: Disconnect the larger connector on the right side from the bottom. Disconnect the two smaller connectors on the right side from the top.
3. Release two tabs, and then slide the delivery-fan and cartridge-fan assembly toward the power-supply side of the product to release it.
4. Pull the assembly slightly out of the product, disconnect two connectors, and then to remove the assembly.
If you look in the service manual there are more steps to this procedure as it shows you how to move the two cooling fans in the housing. However, most suppliers are providing both cooling fans in the housing so you just have to remove and replace the fan housing assembly with the fans already installed. Â
