Note : I have been experiencing lots of failures with third party fusers and I’ve seen it from a variety of companies. I strongly recommend replacing fusers with OEM fusing units rather than rebuilds. However, I will offer you two choices but I would strongly recommend the OEM version.

Repair Advice for the  HP LaserJet M601, M603, M602 50.4 Fuser Error

1. Turn the machine off and wait 15 to 30 minutes. Turn back on and try again.

2. Check the fuser settings for your paper type and make sure that paper type matches what you are feeding through the machine. If you tell the machine you are running cardstock and you are actually running plain paper then it can lead to an overheat issue.

3. Running high volumes of heavy cardstock or specialty paper can lead to overheat issues. If you find yourself in this situation, break large jobs up into smaller jobs and allow time for cooling between jobs.

4. Make sure you have plenty of clearance around the machine. I recommend at least 6 inches.

5. Replace the fusing assembly.
