Instructions for the Kyocera FS1028MFP Pick Up Roller Removal for Paper Jams
Like so many other low end models these Kyocera machines don’t have a real defined life of the feed tires. Rollers in these machines tend to hold up pretty good. I tend to recommend replacement anywhere between 50,000 to 100,000 prints or copies. Below you will find the Kyocera FS1028MFP Pick Up Roller Removal procedure. Most times when I get called out to work on these machines for feed problems or paper jam issues the rollers are the problem. If you find the paper is not leaving the paper tray or making it up to the drum unit then it’s probably time to replace the feed and separation rollers in the paper tray.
Kyocera FS1028MFP Pick Up Roller Removal and Replacement
1. Remove the cassette.
2. Slide the feed shaft while pressing the lever and then remove the paper feed roller assembly.
3. Check or replace the paper feed assembly and refit all the removed parts.
When refitting the paper feed roller assembly, be sure to align the paper feed roller pivot with the slotted hole on the feed shaft.
Kyocera FS1028MFP Retard / Separation Roller Removal and Replacement
1. Remove the cassette.
2. Push the bottom plate down until it locks.
3. Unhook two hooks and then remove the retard guide.
4. Remove the retard roller assembly.
5. Check or replace the retard roller assembly and refit all the removed parts.
Caution: Before refitting the retard roller assembly, firmly install the spring onto the projection of the retard roller assembly.
