Repair Aids for the  HP LaserJet CM4540 50.1 Fuser Error
The CM4540 50.1 Fuser Error is related to a low temperature reading in the fusing assembly. This error is probably one of the errors I see the most. If the fuser doesn’t heat up quick enough when it goes to print you get this error, sometimes when you get a brown out or low power situation on the circuit you get this error. Other times this can happen as the heating elements age. My theory is that if it happens once or twice a year then that’s OK. If it happens twice in a month or two then it’s time to replace. Service Manual Advice for the CM4540 50.1 Fuser Error
1. Remove the fuser, and then reinstall the fuser.
A) Make sure that there is no residual paper in the fuser.
B) Make sure that the product is not located in front of a vent or window where cool air may  interfere with the ability of the fuser to heat up.
2. Check the product power source.
A) Make sure that the power source meets product requirements.
B) Make sure that this is the only device using the circuit.
3. Replace the fuser.- Â HP 110V Fuser Kit – CM4540, CP4025, & CP4525 Series 
4. Check the connector (J50) between the fuser and the printer. If it is damaged, replace the fuser drive assembly or fuser.
5. If the error persists, replace the low-voltage power supply.
6. If this product has been previously serviced, check the connectors (J160 and J162) on the DC controller PCA and the connector (J25) on the power line between the low-voltage power supply assembly and the fuser.
