Below you will find the  Samsung SCX-4016, 4116, 4216F Fuser Removal Procedure along with illustrations to help along the way. The fusers in the machine are only rated at 60,000 prints. I’ve seen them last quite a bit longer. I’ve also seen the hot rollers melt to the pressure roller. The machines don’t have a warning fuser life warning message like some of the newer machines do. If you look at the fusing assembly and it is starting to show signs of wear or if you want to know the page count, print of the system data page in the reports menu. Typcially at the bottom of the system data report you will find the machines total page count. If you find the unit has over 60,000 prints on it then I would strongly consider replacing the fusing assembly to avoid unwanted problems.
Signs of Fuser Wear
1. Repetitive Defects :
Heat Roller – 64.1mm – Black spot and fuser ghost
Pressure Roller 75.5mm Black side contamination
2. Pick fingers will strip the hot roller surface off and cause faint grey lines or ghosting.
3. Warped or wrinkled pressure roller can cause paper jamming.
SCX-4016, 4116, 4216F Fuser Removal
Warning : The fuser is extremely hot. Allow 20 to 30 minutes cool down before handling.  The instructions in the service manual says to remove the scanner assembly and other parts. Every fuser that I’ve ever removed  from this style of machine you only had to remove the back cover. The cables can be a little tricky to get to but are easier to remove than disassembly of the entire machine.

1. Remove the four screws on the four corners. The two on the bottom are in recesses hard to see.
2. Remove the speaker connector on the Left side the pull the covers back and out.
3. Â Remove the two screws in the back of the scanner assembly, disconnect the 6 cables on the Connector board on the left side. Pull the scanner assembly back and up.
4. Disconnect the AC power connector. Disconnect the Thermistor. Remove the 4 screws on the four corners of the fusing assembly. Pull the fusing unit out.
