Troubleshooting Tips for the Drum End Soon Message on the Brother HL – 4140, 4150, 4570

Around the estimated life of 25,000 prints the Drum End Soon Message will appear on the Brother machines control panel. At this time Brother recommends ordering in a new HL – 4140, 4150, and 4570 Brother DR310CL Drum Unit. If you are using OEM toner cartridges these drum units tend to last well past their intended life as long as you are cleaning the drum unit periodically when you are replacing the toner cartridges. I always recommend my customers order a new drum unit to keep on hand at this point and wait till they get a drum error message or start experiencing print quality issues before replacing it. Not much more to say about this message, eventually, it will change to the replace drum message.
