Diagnostic Aids For the 50.2 Fuser Error in the CP3525 Printer

The 50.2 fuser error in the HP Color LaserJet  CP3525 is very similar to the 50.1 fuser error. The machine had a problem during the warm up cycle and the fuser, HP LASERJET  CP3525, 110V  FUSER  KIT CE484A . didn’t get to the correct operating temperature in the allowed amount of time. In this article I’d like to discuss a few of the basic troubleshooting steps and provide a brief summary of what the HP service manual has to say about the subject.

1. Turn the printer off then back on. Doing this allows a preheated fuser  a few  additional seconds to get up to operating temperature. Sometimes you might see this error in a sudden power outage where the fuser temp gets checked at the wrong time.

2. Check your power source. Make sure  other large heating  devices like  a copier, space heater, or coffee makers are not plugged into the same circuit. Also make sure it’s plugged straight into a wall outlet and not a power strip or battery backup  with other devices. The key here is that other devices draw power on the same circuit. Most devices don’t have temperature sensors in them like your machine. So if they are struggling they will not warn you.  However, because the printer needs to be operating at a certain temperature for correct printing it will throw an error code if those conditions are not met.  

3. Reseat  the fuser and follow the service manual instructions listed below.

2. Reconnect the connectors (J138, J115) of the DC controller PCAË™. Reconnect connector (J60), on the power line between the low voltage power supply and the fuser.
3. If the problem persists, replace the fuser.
