Brother Printer MFC8510DN Multifunction Review, Brochure,  and Specifications

The Brother Printer MFC8510DN Multifunction  is one of my favorite machines. I’ve been a Brother ASP for over ten years now and I know that if I sell a Brother 8000 series machine my customers are going to have a well-built, durable machine that is going to last them a long time. Once I can get a Brother multifunction into a customers office I know I will be selling them more Brother machines in the future. HP and a lot of other manufactures take their smallest print engine and put a copy unit on top of it and mark it up several hundred dollars. What’s nice about Brother machines is that on the 8510 series, Brother takes its strongest print engine, puts a copy unit on it, and charges a little more. So a Brother multifunction is a lot better deal money wise than other manufactures.

Selling Points

1. One of the nice things about these machines is the high yield toner cartridge. At an average yield of 8,000 pages these machines have a very low-cost per page compared to similar models from other manufactures.

2. Scan and print software. Extremely easy to use Control Center that is  designed for easy configuration. I strongly recommend Brother machines to people new to multifunction devices because their software makes it so easy to use and understand.

3.  Copy features like N – 1, ID copy, and easy to use manual duplex function. All these functions are great for insurance, medical, and church settings. About the only thing this model doesn’t have that I like is Automatic Duplex from the ADF.

4. Cost. My biggest problem selling these machines is the cost. No one can believe that what I’m selling is what I say it is. Putting 200,000 prints and copies on one of these machines is no big deal. Trust me I feel the same as my customers. This machine is too cheap. If this was an HP machine it would cost between $700.00 to $1000.00. But it’s not an it’s an incredible deal for what you getting.

I’m only giving this a four out of five because of the ADF duplex function. I love this feature because it can be a key selling point. Like scanning, if your new to it you don’t see the benifet but once you starting using it you begin to wonder how you ever survived work with it. So because this machine only offers manual duplex copies it gets a slightly lower rating than the 8710 or 8910.
