50.3 Fuser Error – HP Color Laserjet 4700, 4730 MFP, CP4005

50.3 fuser error  – HP Color Laserjet  4700, 4730 MFP, CP4005

Using heavy cardstock or improper ventilation can result in a 50.3 fuser error on the HP color laserjet  4700. 4730, and CP4005  printers. The high temperature 50.3 fuser error doesn’t happen to often in these machines but if it does the first thing to try is just turning the machine off for 10 to 20 minutes and turning it back on. If you are running large volumes of prints try to break up the job into a few smaller jobs to allow the machine to cool down periodically. Next thing to check is the environment. I’ve seen machines stuck on factory floors and in the middle of summer. Temperatures can reach over 100 decrees which is too hot for machines of this nature. Last thing to check is the cardstock of the paper. The fusers heat up more when using a heavy cardstock to make sure the toner is getting properly bonded to the paper. If you run the machine over a long period if time in this mode it can result in a high temperature error.

Conclusion About the 50.3 fuser error in your HP Color Laserjet  4700, 4730 MFP, CP4005

With the 50.3 fuser  error being a high temperature error probably the best thing you can do is to turn it off, check to make sure nothing is leaning on it, has proper ventilation, and let it sit 10 to 20 minutes before plugging back in to allow it to cool off. If it continues to overheat make sure the fuser mode is set to normal and the paper type is configured  to plain paper. If all else fails then replacing the fuser  is the next step.
